Awwwwww, Cousin T has returned to her family! W, R and V are torn between missing her and being happy to have some "down time" with Mommy and Daddy. We are already looking forward to having her back next year!
Earlier this week, while the little girls took their afternoon nap/quiet time, Mommy and Cousin T spent a couple of days making a turtle stepping stone. Mommy was given the kits to make this craft some years ago, but she is not remotely crafty and needed a helping hand. After assembling the required tools and materials, we got to work:
The first step was to add green sand to
dry concrete so that our turtles would be colorful!
Mixing the concrete with water.
We filled a plastic turtle-shaped mold with the concrete mix.
Next, we tapped it around the edges
to even out the mix and remove the air bubbles.
Then, we set it aside to dry for two days.
SUCCESS!
Two days later, the turtle easily popped out of the mold!
No broken feet or tail! No cracks!
which will be decorated by the Triumphant Trio at a later date.
This turtle went home with Cousin T and we can't wait to see it in her yard.
Thanks, Cousin T! It wasn't that hard! Mommy just needed a little nudge. Look for an update with three more turtles to be decorated by W, R and V.
