Halloween came and went without so much as a blip here at the Instant Family blog. Which is a shame, because Mommy and Daddy truly enjoyed the family's first Halloween together in 2008 -- maybe even more than the kids. And we had even more fun in 2009!
The festivities started a day or two before Halloween, with W and R making a visit to nursery school on the day of the school's Halloween party. They hadn't started attending alone yet but Mommy would take them by for preparatory visits. What better time to "drop by" than when there's a party going on?
There was obligatory pre-Halloween pumpkin carving. This year, the twins got to dig in and get dirty, rather than just spectating.
Our neighbourhood association hosted a Halloween party, with crafts and games for the kids.
Of course, the Canadialanders have found a way to incorporate hockey into the Halloween experience. Or, more accurately, the Canadialanders have allowed a little Halloween to intrude on the non-stop, year-around hockey experience.
Mommy tried to get some good photos of the girls in their costumes.
In order to get those few pictures, Mommy had to take dozens of shots. Thank goodness for digital photography!
Our neighbourhood is full of kids and was trick-or-treat central. Daddy took everyone out trick-or-treating while Mommy stayed home to hand out candy and fend off hooligans.
V quickly lost interest in going door-to-door and sat down on our doorstep to enjoy her first taste of potato chips.
Then, finally, there's the LOOT:
Happy (belated) Halloween, everyone!
