Now: Summer Solstice

Instant Family certainly made the most of every minute of all the sunlight today!

The morning started with the twins going to nursery school for a few hours, while Mommy, Cousin T and V headed out to visit a Lego store. We didn't think it was going to be much of a photo op kind of place so, once again, camera FAIL. The store had huge Lego sculptures of dinosaurs, superheros, robots and castles. Plus, a very cool play area with lots of Legos and a race track to put your creations to the test. Expect to see a future Instant Family update with the Terrible Trio at play in the Lego store!

In the afternoon, the girls took to the pavement on their bikes. Sorta. Wren and Cousin T were whizzing around the block together.

R was plodding along - she can either pedal or steer. She can only do both together when Mommy is constantly reminding her: "Think about your pedaling. Now think about steering. Now the pedals. Now steer." If she's not being prompted, she either (1) thinks only about the pedaling and steers into the nearest fence or concrete wall or (2) she thinks only about the steering and her feet grind to a halt.

As for V, she sits on her trike and screams "PUSH-A ME!" and then when pushed, screams "NO TOUCH MAH HANDLES! MAH BIKE". Yep, she has immediately embraced the Terrible Twos.

We eventually gave up on the bikes and went for the old standby of wagon.

Later in the day, to eke out the last moments on this longest day of the year, Daddy and Cousin T indulged in a round of mini-golf.
