Several people have recently asked WHERE the twins are taking skating lessons. It is presumed by Canadialandians that 21 month old little girls are taking skating lessons, it's just a question of where.
Stereotype #2: Canadialandians REALLY Love to Skate
There are quite a few outdoor skating rinks in our town. Dozens. Every little park that has a baseball field or soccer field for a neighborhood has that space turned into a skating rink. They are constantly full of families with small children. It is not uncommon to see a mom pushing a stroller on the ice, while two or three small children skate along side her. See Stereotype #1.
Stereotype #3: Canadians Love Maple Syrup.
Overheard in the express line at the grocery store on a Saturday evening:
First College Student: Hi! How've you been?
Second College Student:Great! And you?
FCS: Not too bad! What are you buying?
SCS: Just had to grab some Maple Syrup. I'm going to a Christmas party.
FCS: Tonight?
SCS: No, on Christmas day. Can`t miss out on the syrup, eh?

FCS: Oh yeah, yeah. I must take care of that one quite soon myself.
Mommy then turns to look at the two people chatting and one of them is holding what is easily a half gallon (liter) jug of maple syrup. What? What?
We're strangers in a strange land up here.
UPDATE
Stereotype #4: Canadialandians are nice/polite.
Going to a crowded mall during the Christmas rush isn't fun anywhere. But the Canadialandians sure do make it bearable. It's an entire country full of people who, if you accidentally bump in to them, they apologize to you. Plus, like all nations with Her Majesty on the coinage, they maintain a great and abiding respect for "the line up" (much to my disappointment, we do not "queue" here in Canadialand).
