Oktoberfest

Our town is the home of North America's largest Oktoberfest celebration. Over the course of the second week in October, 700,000 people descend upon the various Oktoberfest events. While some of the festhallen have family times (when minors are permitted to enter), the eating and drinking all seemed a little too much for us this year.
Instead, the twins did their best to fit in with the Oktoberfest revelers who are everywhere around town.

Also, Daddy and the twins attended the Oktoberfest/Canadian Thanksgiving Parade.

They saw a float with Onkel Hans, the Oktoberfest Mascot.

They saw many people wearing lederhosen. These people are not parade participants. There were just people walking all over town dressed like this for a week or so . . .

The parade also featured several groups of bagpipers. Because nothing says "Bavaria" like a set of bag pipes.

In a few weeks, we'll go to the Santa Claus/Winter parade. They seem to have a lot of parades in our town.
