We've had a lot of doctor's appointments recently. Here's the highlights:
- At 4 months, V weighs 16 pounds, 5 ounces. Shave off an ounce or two for the diaper and that puts her at about the 85th percentile for weight. She is now about the same size that the twins were at 11 months!!
- The twins are also growing nicely. At a year old, they were in the 5th percentile for height/weight for their age. More recently, at 19 months, they were in the the 10th percentile for height/weight for their age.
- Violet got her first vaccines. She really doesn't cry much and seems to handle it quite well.
- The twins are caught up with their vaccinations. While they did receive routine childhood vaccinations in China, we chose to start over with their vaccination schedule, as the information from China might not be accurate and/or the vaccines were not properly administered. That's a lot of catching up and a lot of needles in a short time. Happily, they won't need any more until they are aged four.
- W was treated very aggressively with antibiotics and a steroid nasal spray in an effort to finally put a stop to her recurring ear infections. She saw an Ear Nose and Throat specialist and an audiologist. At last!! No fluid in her ears and a normal hearing test. We are happy she won't have to get tubes in her ears to drain the fluid.
- Both of the twins were evaluated by a speech therapist. We'll see the therapists again in a few months to get another evaluation to determine if their speech/language skills are progressing appropriately.
Whew. It has certainly been busy! But the good news is that they are three healthy, growing little girls!
