We initally hoped to find a home in the downtown core, close to the Deluxe Apartment in the Sky. We loved the walkability of our neighbourhood and being close to amenities like library, museum, and small shops. Most of the homes in the neighbourhood were built when Grover Cleveland was president (the second time) and after seeing many, many houses, we eventually realized that the reno work and maintenance for a historic home was more than Mommy and Daddy could handle at this point. (Not to mention that the washroom situation was dire in most of these buildings.)
Despite Mommy's vow that she would be dragged back to the suburbs kicking and screaming, she was the one who actually found our home in the suburbs. Here are some photos from the real estate listing:

We love the location, which is in a mixed use development, with walking trails and a school at the centre.

Congratulations to the Instant Family! We notice that you are getting all Canadiananized, using words like "washroom" and spellings like "centre". Keep on blogging!
