Happy Independence Day!

After experiencing a second year through the Canada Day/Indpendence Day holiday "season", we definately sense a synergy of celebrating the two events one right after the next.  Last year we thought it might be the novelty of an added holiday but

Today, we travelled 'cross the border to Buffalo, U.S.A to attend a wedding shower for a law school friend which was also a big family Fourth of July picnic event.  The girls all had a blast.  Our hosts had an amazing set up in their yard with multiple tents and toys.  W, R and Baby V got to play outside all afternoon, eat delicious forbidden foods like chips and chocolate and were generally fawned over and lavished with attention by all the guests.  Strangely enough, despite all the yummy food available, W and R mostly ate ice -- they probably consumed a 10-pound bag of ice between the two of them.

W eats ice and looks at the pond.

The girls have yet to see fireworks (either Canada Day or Fourth of July) -- they simply cannot stay up that late!  So, we can still expand our summer holiday extravaganza in coming years.
