Another fun Canada Day -- hard to believe that it is our third year celebrating this holiday!

We enjoyed a BBQ lunch and, after the girls' nap time, set out for the festivities hosted annually by U. Waterloo. Games for the kids, arts and crafts booths, food vendors and live music. It was a gorgeous, sunny day but, still cool and breezy.
W and R were fascinated with this kite,
which they kept noting looked like two worms.
W, R and V's main interest was in sampling as much food as possible, from pulled BBQ sandwiches to soft pretzels to cotton candy. All three had to be coerced into trying some of the kiddie games that were set up and had pretty much no interest in the bouncy castles or other rides.
The girls did not like this game,
which involved throwing a wet sponge at a human target.
But they enjoyed a mini-bowling game.
We need to start them soon on Wii bowling!
The big hit of the afternoon was the free balloons, which they ran around and played with for over an hour. Fireworks were scheduled to start at 10 but we headed home at about 8:30, which is already past the girls' bedtime. We didn't expect them to hold out so strong and we didn't bring along warm clothes for the cool night air.
HAPPY CANADA DAY!
