Giant Baby Explained

Devoted readers may recall that V is a Giant Baby.  At her recent 15 month appointment, she weighed in at 26 lbs., 6 oz, pushing to the 98th percentile for her age.  She was about 31 inches tall, charting at well over average in the height category as well.

Sometimes people are baffled as to how Mommy and Daddy managed to produce a Giant Baby.   Certainly, we're not small people.  But we're not GIANTS.  What you need to know, to fully  understand the Giant Baby phenomenon, is that Daddy (who measures in at 6 feet) is relatively "short" compared to his McCousins.

When looking at this photo, bear in mind that despite how diminutive she might appear relative to the McCousins, Mommy is actually taller than average, measuring in just a hair under 5 foot, 6 inches.  There is no doubt in our minds that V is not the first Giant Baby in this family tree.

(Because someone will ask, we're pretty sure everyone in the photo is in stocking feet, because it was raining outside and footwear was removed at the front door.)
