Cinco De Mayo!

Mommy and Daddy's favorite drinking holiday multi-cultural celebration is Cinco De Mayo.  While we each actually have a significant amount of Irish heritage, we chose to carouse on Cinco De Mayo rather than St. Patrick's Day.

Until very recently, our choices for Mexican food in our new Canadialandian home were (1) Taco Bell and (2) Casa Salsa, a stall in the farmer's market run by a well meaning but misguided Chilean woman.  Indeed, so deprived are we of access to salsa and black beans, that Daddy Relcuk once brought home  (smuggled through customs?) a burrito from Dallas to appease one of Mommy's cravings.  So, last year, with Mommy Relcuk very pregnant and the lack of a take-out Mexican food venue, we stumbled in our annual Cinco De Mayo festivities and made due with seltzer water and an Old El Paso taco kit -- let us never speak of this again.

Happily, just a few weeks ago, we welcomed the opening of Taco Bite, a totally legitimate and very delicious Mexican restaurant.  We give it top marks.  So, this year, we introduced the twins to tacos and quesadillas and Corona empanadas

As you can see in this video, R has been so deprived of Mexican food that she thinks we're about to eat PIZZA!  Silly R, that's on June 2nd.*

*On June 2nd, Italy celebrates a national holiday to mark the Anniversary of the Republic.
